Meaning ‘first born’, Siqalo Lodge was the first lodge built at Royal Jozini. Hand-embroidered lampshades and original artworks give this self – catering accommodation a ‘one-of-a-kind’ feeling. This lodge with its high thatched roof consists of a communal kitchen, entertainment area with a bar, swimming pool and boma, as well as two sleeping quarters: Siqalo Hippo and Siqalo Warthog. Both have their own covered deck, table and chairs for enjoying the bliss of the bush.
Siqalo Hippo consists of a queen bedroom, shower, toilet, hand-wash basin, kitchenette and it is tucked in a grove of Tambuti Trees. The kitchenette has a gas ring for boiling water or frying bacon and eggs on, as well as a bar fridge for keeping drinks cool. It sleeps 2.
Siqalo Warthog is a family chalet that sleeps 4, and consists of a queen-size bed and 2 singles in 1 bedroom. It has a shower and toilet with a hand-wash basin. The kitchenette has a gas ring for boiling water or frying bacon and eggs on, as well as a bar fridge for keeping drinks cool.
With its expansive deck area, this lodge home was recently the venue for an intimate wedding. The patio was covered with a Bedouin style stretch tent for weather protection and shade, and all support services came into the game reserve to ensure that this was a wedding to remember. Florist, caterer, DJ, pastor, hairdresser, make up artist, as well as tent and hire company, all came together for a bush wedding from heaven!
